Badgerly is a job tracking tool for candidates. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's handled.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name and email address when you register, and a hashed password or third-party login token.
- Job search data: the jobs, companies, tags, contacts, and notes you create while using Badgerly.
- Payment information: if you upgrade to Pro, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details ourselves.
- Usage data: basic technical information such as browser type and login activity, used for security and troubleshooting.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve Badgerly: storing and displaying your job search data, authenticating your account, processing payments, sending account-related emails (such as email verification), and responding to support requests. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Badgerly: Stripe for payment processing, Resend for transactional email, and our hosting providers for infrastructure. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database with access restricted to the systems that need it. We use industry-standard practices such as encrypted connections and hashed credentials to protect your information, but no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Your rights
You can access, update, or delete most of your data directly within the app. You may also request a full export or deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us, and we'll action it within a reasonable timeframe.
Data retention
We retain your account and job search data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our systems, except where we're required to retain limited records for legal or accounting purposes.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Badgerly evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the app before they take effect.
